The Forsaken

Digital Painting: The Forsaken

About the Painting

In September 2025, Garr had finally had enough with the worsening situation for Palestinians in Gaza. With hospital and refugee camp bombings, blockades of aid, killing of people in food lines, etc. – it had become intolerable. He had to speak out!

As an artist, Garr believes that one of the purposes of art is to show up injustice and cruelty, and lend a voice to those who have no advocate. In addition, one of the main purposes of art is to evoke emotion in the viewer – even if that is discomfort with what's being depicted. It can act as a valuable tool to start constructive debate, and cut through political rhetoric by arousing base emotions. It can inspire people to think differently. It can also document difficult historical times and societal issues.

The result is his third piece of protest art.
