About the Painting
Garr had an idea about capturing a raptor (such as an eagle) about to strike its prey. He wanted to convey the drama, action, and motion – but a static painting of an eagle, no matter how posed, just didn't do this for him.
So... he decided to abstract the image in such a way as to convey this action and motion. You can judge for yourself whether he was successful or not!
